Shocking Blue was founded in the late sixties by Robbie van Leeuwen, a group in which he wanted to put the scaffolding could break through internationally. Eventually he succeeded in his mission: to singer Mariska Veres as eyecatcher Shocking Blue earned in 1970 as the first Dutch band the top spot in the Billboard Hot 100 with the single Venus.
